Headteacher’s Welcome
Having been headteacher for over 10 years I have seen this academy turn an ambitious idea of traditional education to the highest performing secondary school on the Fylde Coast. That vision was realised because of a simple, shared commitment: delivering academic excellence within a caring Christian community, empowering every member of our school to change the world for the better.
It is my privilege now, as Headteacher, to welcome you to our website and the gateway to our academy. Everything we do is built on the foundation of our core Christian values - dignity, hope, community, wisdom, humility, and kindness. From the way we recruit and train our staff to what we expect of our students, our mission is to ensure that learning, safety, and mutual respect come first.
Teaching and learning here are driven by ambition. Lessons are structured, planned, and delivered with immaculate attention to detail to ensure that every pupil makes exceptional progress. This daily commitment takes place in every classroom through "The SG Way" - our unique way of life where students transition with purpose, follow instructions first time, and work their hardest every single lesson. Our learning environment is exceptional, supported by superb, modern facilities designed to cultivate a passion for learning.
Our efforts continue to bear fruit. St George's remains one of the best schools in the country. Pupils are polite, hard-working, impeccably behaved, and rightfully proud of their achievements. Beyond the classroom, we believe in nurturing the whole child. We offer an excellent array of extra-curricular opportunities, including vibrant music development, standard-setting sports facilities like our double-sized gymnasium, educational expeditions, and the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.
Our students leave St George's equipped with the confidence, determination, and qualifications to walk the path of their choosing. Guided by the words of Romans 12:10 to "be devoted to one another in love," they step out into the wider world prepared to achieve personal excellence and make a positive impact on society.
